MWNE on hiatus

Over the last eleven years, Ms. Wheelchair Nebraska has undergone an amazing amount of growth and change.  It is only after careful consideration that we, as a board, came to the realization that we need to take time to understand not only how Ms. Wheelchair Nebraska has developed, but how best we can accomplish our goals and meet new challenges sure to come our way. 10th WOW Workshop to be held in Omaha

Ms. Wheelchair Nebraska, Inc. will be providing its tenth WOW (Women On Wheels) workshop on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at the PVA Educational Center in Omaha.  MWNE received grant money from the Christopher Reeves Foundation in 2008 and has been using those funds to implement the WOW workshops. 

Guest speaker, Ida Esh’t will be traveling from Arizona to present an inspirational program about her life, the disabled population and her organization H.O.P.E.  We will also hear from Cecilia Losee from Prudential Insurance who will speak about the importance of Health Care … Continue Reading

       Summer arrived as we all knew it would…bringing with it blistering triple digit temperatures, but it is not formidable enough to keep people down. WOW workshop to be held August 13th

The next Women On Wheels workshop will be held on August 13th in Grand Island.  Joni Thomas from the Center for Independent Living will be the main speaker.  She will present a workshop about the various services that the Center provides and other local resources.  Additional workshops will also be presented including a workshop on how to use coupons to save money while shopping.  WOW will begin at 10:00am at the Grand Island public library (211 N Washington Street).  Lunch will be provided and  we will finish at about 2:00pm.  … Continue Reading

Greetings My Friends! 

May came rolling in on fairly chilly, thunderous hooves taunting us with spring, while winter refused to completely release its grip and summer reminded us that it would come with a vengeance at some point.  While the weather has been temperamental, the longer days have also given me a “spring in my step” and I look forward to all of the amazing opportunities the summer will bring.
